COSMETIC TATTOO AFTERCARE

The Masoumeh Brow cosmetic tattoo treatment is considered to be a permanent procedure as you will not be able to wash your result off. Your body will naturally metabolise the pigment over the years. Your cosmetic tattoo treatment will last anywhere from 1-5 years depending on your skin type or lifestyle. It is important to follow care advice to pronlong your results and avoid fading and discolouration of your treatment.

- Avoid any skin/blood thinners (Vitamin A, Glycolic acids) 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

- Cosmetic treatments to the area such as fillers must be done 4 weeks prior or 2 weeks after your appointment. Please consult us if you are planning to do this prior to your service.

- Clients who are prone to keloid scarring will not be able to have any cosmetic tattoo service.

- Strictly no alcohol, fish oil, caffeine or pain medicines such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen or Niacin 48 hours before your procedure, this will cause excess bleeding and may affect your results.

- You will not be able to receive a tattoo service if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning on pregnancy.

- Start your aftercare balm before you go to bed by applying a very thin layer.

- Do this for the next 7-10 days, morning and night.

- This step will keep the wound clean, hydrated and will help avoid scab formation.

- No wetting your eyebrow tattoo for 7 days.

- Do not pick or peel your eyebrows.

- Do not apply makeup products on your eyebrows.

- No exercise or activities that causing sweating as this will effect your result and can cause infection to the treatment area.

- Avoid facial massage, steam and sauna.

- Avoid sunbathing, solarium, light therapies, chemical peels, microdermabrasion and any creams that contain regeneration factors.

- No prescription blood thinners 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

- Cosmetic treatments to the area such as Lip filler must be done 2 months prior or 2 weeks after your appointment.

- Clients who are prone to keloid scarring will not be able to have any cosmetic tattoo service.

- You will not be able to receive a tattoo service if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning on pregnancy.

Your new lip blush tattoo will go through several different stages while it is healing. Healing can take on average 5-14 days but will vary depending on each individual, some will heal quicker than others. Be patient as this is all part of the healing process.

Day 1

  • Lips will be vibrant, brighter and may appear bigger. Very few clients may experience bruising and swelling at the treated area. This will typically subside after 1-2 hours however can last up to 3 days with sensitive skin.

Day 2 

  • Your lips will appear even darker than on the first day.
  • Mild tenderness and tightness to the treated area.
  • Swelling will have subside.

Day 3 - 5

  • You may experience some flakiness, please leave them alone and let it naturally come off.
  • Lip colour may appear uneven or patchy.
  • Once your skin has completely flaked, colour will appear more even and true to colour.

The compete process of healing is 4-6 weeks however the above is the process of treatment downtime.

  • For the next 7 days please avoid excessive sweating caused by exercise or strenuous activity.
  • Ensure you clean your lips after every meal
  • Avoid coloured food (curry, chilli, coffee etc.) and to drink your liquid via a straw
  • Do not apply makeup directly on the treated area until skin has fully flaked and healed.
  • Do not expose your healing skin to direct sun, tanning beds, saunas, or in hot steamy showers for at least 14 days following the procedure.
  • Avoid touching your lips or picking at any flaky skin during the healing process.
  • Ensure you keep your lips are as moist as possible, apply lip balm through out the day.
  • Apply SPF balm to lips once it is healed to prevent lips from fading

- The entire healing process can take up to 6 weeks.

- Always avoid laser treatments over the treated area as they can destroy pigment and will cause scar tissue.

- Please be aware that hormone therapy and antibiotics can cause your treatment to fade faster.

- Masoumeh Brow Artistry will not be liable for any problems caused by incorrect aftercare.

- Masoumeh Brow Artistry advises all clients that results vary for each individual and longevity will depend on the individuals skin type and lifestyle.

- Masoumeh Brow Artistry will not provide a refund based on how long the result last for each individual.
